The back end for apps that must follow Egyptian data law.
Every Pyrabase project gets its own Postgres database, auth, storage, realtime and edge functions behind one URL. Add compute for your services. Priced in pounds, with the data-protection paperwork generated for you.

Everything in one project.
Database and Compute share a project, a bill and a data-protection pack. Nothing is copied between them.
Pyrabase Database
Postgres 17 with REST, auth, storage with image transforms, realtime, edge functions and vector search. Backups, point restore, and pause and resume.
Pyrabase Compute
Deploy a container or a git repo as a service on its own virtual machine, next to your database. Pull-request previews and a Redis add-on. Free apps sleep when idle and wake on the next request.
Why it matters now.
Egypt's data protection law applies to every app that holds Egyptians' personal data, wherever the app's servers are.
Enforcement of the Personal Data Protection Law (151/2020) begins. Sending personal data abroad needs a licence and consent.
Source: Clyde & Co, regulatory updateThe maximum fine per violation. A back end hosted in Egypt removes the cross-border question for your app.
Source: Clyde & Co, regulatory updateThe time allowed to notify the data protection authority of a breach. That needs an audit log and a process ready before it happens.

Where the data lives, what you pay in and who helps you with the law all matter once your users are Egyptian.
| Global hosted back ends | Pyrabase | |
|---|---|---|
| Data location | Usually Germany, Singapore or the US | Egypt, with a residency attestation per project |
| Billing | Usually US dollars on an international card | EGP, local cards and Fawry |
| Compliance | You write it | A generated pack for your project |
| Mobile OTP | International SMS providers | Egyptian carriers |
| Your code | Standard Postgres, REST and client libraries. Nothing proprietary to learn. | |
What every project gets.
- A real Postgres 17 database
- Your own database per project, with SQL access, daily backups, restore to a point, and pause and resume when you are not using it.
- REST and auth
- An auto-generated REST API over your tables, and email sign-in with row-level security.
- Storage with image transforms
- A bucket per project for files, with on-the-fly image resizing.
- Realtime
- Subscribe to changes in your tables from the browser or the app.
- Edge functions
- Server code with its own secrets, deployed next to your database.
- An Arabic and English console
- Projects, SQL, tables, users, files, functions, usage and logs, laid out right to left when you choose Arabic.
- Built to be driven by tools
- A documented platform API for scripts and automation. A Claude Code skill is included for people who build with AI assistants.
The data-protection pack.
The law asks controllers for records and processes. Each project generates them from how it is actually configured.
Record of processing
A ROPA built from your tables and flows.
Audit log
Who read or changed personal data, and when.
Residency attestation
A statement of where the project's data sits. An attestation, never a certification.
Erasure function
A ready right-to-erasure request handler.
Arabic privacy notice
A draft for your users, in Arabic, to review with your counsel.
The pack supports your compliance work and is not legal advice.
Moving over takes an afternoon.
A migration tool handles the database and the files. Pyrabase works with the Supabase client libraries and API and is not affiliated with Supabase, Inc.
